Tactics for the Patrolman
Warrior Mindset in High-Risk Law Enforcement Operations (1 Day) Possessing a warrior mindset is a critical aspect for successfully dealing with high-fear and high-stress tactical situations. This course focuses on what a warrior mindset is and how it can be developed. Participants will be instructed in practical methods of preparing for; operation in; and successfully recovering from traumatic tactical engagements. SWAT Tactics for Patrol (2 Days) This course is designed to provide the Patrol officer with basic tactical skills utilized by SWAT. The skills taught in this course are provided to give the officer an advantage when confronting tactical situations. Skills covered; manual breaching, building entry, room clearing, close quarter battle, close quarter [hand] combat and active shooter tactics. Counter Active Shooter (1-3 Days) This course is designed to expose the first responder to incidents relating to school and workplace violence. Provided is an insight on active-shooter encounters, high-stress scenarios, corporate security and violence, emergency management and close-quarters combat. This course will provide solutions through academic and reality based preparedness to reduce the effects of these unfortunate incidents. Patrol Rifle (3 Days) This course focuses on deployment techniques and use of the patrol rifle as a primary weapon system for the patrol officer. Proper deployment, fundamentals of rifle marksmanship and case law pertaining to liability will be discussed. Topics for instruction: Basic marksmanship usage along with tactical movement, combat and tactical reloads, multiple target engagement, shooting on the move, barricades, target discrimination, alternate firing positions, use of vehicles for cover, strong hand, off hand, transitions, sighting options, long range shooting, night firing with sights, lights and lasers.
